REWARDS PROGRAM FAQ

TLB Rewards is easy; the more you love us, the more we love you! Once you create your account, you can start earning points and redeeming them for rewards. Check out our TLB Rewards page for all the details.

Joining the TLB Rewards program is simple (and free)! Sign up with your email through the rewards page. We recommend signing up when you make your first purchase, but you can join at any time - there is no minimum spend required to be a member. Upon joining, you'll receive 10 points! Each purchase you make afterwards will contribute towards your point total. Just be sure you log in with your TLB Rewards account to earn points, redeem points and enjoy the benefits of being a part of our community.

You'll start out as a Beauty, and then be able to level up to a new tier like Baddie or Bawse. To become a Baddie, you need to spend $100+ in a year. To become a Bawse, you need to spend $200+ in a year. Your tier status will last 1 year from the date you earned it on a rolling basis. For example, if earned Baddie status on 01/02/20, you would keep that status through 01/02/21. If you were a Baddie and then earned Bawse status a few months later, your Bawse status would be a year from the date you earned the new status.

Points expire after 12 months of inactivity. In this context, inactivity refers to customers who have not earned or redeemed any points within the selected time frame.

Earn points each time you spend on TLB! Points will be earned on each dollar you spend, excluding shipping fees and taxes (rounded down to the nearest dollar). Please allow 48 hours for your points to appear on your Account page. Points can be earned on products purchased on our website (http://www.thelipbar.com) or at our Flagship Store in Detroit. Purchases made at Target, Walmart, Amazon, or Meijer will not accrue points. Higher tiers are able to earn points at a higher rate. Our Baddies enjoy earning 1.25 points per $1 spent, and our Bawses earn 1.5 points per $1 spent. There's also certain activities and actions you can do that can help you earn additional points, like following us on Instagram, leaving a review or posting a photo! Take a look at the "How To Earn" section for more details. Please note that points earned through actions don't apply towards your tier status. Tier status can only be earned through purchases

You can use your points to redeem products or discounts! You can select products directly from the Rewards page in the "Redeem" section, or select discounts for $ off directly at checkout. You must purchase at least one item in order to redeem points for a product or discount. Checkout Dropdown Instructions: Once logged in and ready to check out, on the right-hand side you'll see a drop-down menu underneath your cart total [above the "Gift card or discount code" field]. Select the Reward you would like to redeem, and click "Apply". The page will refresh, and the product will be added to your cart. Discounts are not eligible on shipping fees or taxes. If you are not signed in with your TLB Rewards account, you will not see this dropdown option at Checkout.

Once logged in, you can check your tier on the Rewards Page.

Yes! We love to celebrate our TLB Beauties! First thing's first, be sure to update your profile with your birthday month and make sure you're subscribed to our emails. On your birthday, check your email! You'll see a note from us with a special unique code. You must make a purchase of at least one item in order to redeem. If you entered your birthday within 30 days, your reward will be granted in delay by up to 30 days. If you enter your birthday on September 1st and your birthday is on September 5th, then you would get the reward on October 1st.

Great question! Once you enter your friend’s email address (or share your referral link with them directly), they can click the link to get their promo code. They can enter that code at checkout on their first order of $40+ to get $10 off.

Your point balance will automatically update in your account and you will receive an email when your friend places their order of $40+ using the promo code generated through the email they received.

Your points will be granted after your friend has completed their first purchase of $40+ using the link in the email that was sent to them. If it has been 48 hours after their purchase and you still have not received your points, emailinfo@thelipbar.com.

Our Lipstick is made of a unique blend of natural ingredients and then loaded with pigment to give you kick-ass colors. Each lipstick is enriched with shea butter, avocado oil, coconut oil and vitamin E for maximum moisture.

Our store is located in downtown Detroit at 1435 Farmer Street, right behind the Shinola hotel in Parker's Alley. We have try-on stations and professional makeup artists to assist your needs! The Lip Bar’s handcrafted lipsticks are seasonally based on the latest fashion trends. Twice a year we will release a new collection that will be inspired by the current climate of fashion. At the end of each season, we will have a “Last Call” and once these products are sold out, we will not offer them anymore. If the demand is high for a certain hue, we may consider bringing it back in a future collection. So don’t be afraid to tell us what you love.

Because our prices are so affordably priced, we do not do sales that often and they are always a for a very limited time and only for that time. WE DO NOT OFFER PRICE ADJUSTMENTS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. To help you determine how to take advantage of sales, please follow our social media channels for updates and keep in mind that we generally have a sale for Christmas, Black Friday and our company Anniversary.

We would love to receive your feedback on your experience with the item(s) that didn’t meet your expectations. Please send an email to support@thelipbar.com with your order number and a brief description of why you are not happy with your purchase. While we do not offer refunds, we are happy to explore exchange options for an alternate shade or store credit within 14 days of your order being delivered.

At this time, we offer samples for Just a Tint Skin Conditioner. We will offer samples for our Quick Conceal Caffeine Concealer soon! You can request two free samples and pay for shipping, or you can add two shade samples to your order for free. Please reference our complexion quiz to determine which two shades you would like to sample.

  • Orders normally process and ship within 1-3 business days of receipt. Exceptions to this may be holiday and promo days.
  • A business day is Monday - Friday before 2:00 pm EST.
  • If you are in the contiguous United States, your order will be delivered to you within 3-10 days of order processing depending on the time of year, the order’s destination, and any restrictions in place at the destination. Our fulfillment center is located in southwest Michigan.

  • We ship internationally for a flat rate of $8.00. Simply make this selection at checkout. All international orders ship through DHL with the following estimated transit times
    • Germany 2 - 4 days
    • Europe 3 - 6 days
    • Canada 5 - 9 days
    • Rest of World 6-12 days
  • Please note, we currently do not ship to the following countries due to DHL restrictions

  • International shipments are subject to customs clearance procedures, which can cause delays beyond the original delivery estimate.
  • Customers are responsible for all customs fees related to shipping internationally.
  • We do not offer price adjustments.

    Our discount codes are not applicable to bundles or sets, which are discounted already. During special promotions, the option to redeem discount codes, rewards points and gift cards is not available.

    Most of our bundles are curated by complexion and we’ve done the work to pair the correct shades for you! Bundles curated by complexion are  preselected by your shade family, so we do not offer the option to mix and match bundle items at this time. 

    If any of your bundle items are not the right complexion shade, we will exchange it for an alternate shade or store credit within 14 days of receipt. Please review the Returns & Exchanges section.

    RETURNS & EXCHANGES

    We know that selecting the right complexion shade online can be a hit or a miss; therefore, we offer a return and exchange policy for our complexion products.  If you purchase the incorrect shade of Caffeine Concealer,  Tinted Skin Conditioner,  Fresh Glow, or Finishing Powder, you may make an exchange for the correct shade or receive store credit within 14 days of receiving your order,  no questions asked.

    We encourage you to use Virtual Try On to assist your shade selection. If you need additional assistance with selecting your shade, please send us a photo of yourself without makeup, without filters and in natural light to support@thelipbar.com to receive a shade recommendation.

    On all other unopened and unused products, we offer a 14 day exchange period for an alternate item, of equal or lesser value, or store credit. 

    For all exchanges, customers are responsible for the shipping of the returned item. 

    If you are in the metro Detroit area, please head to our flagship store in downtown Detroit to discover your perfect shade in person. 

    SHIPPING & DELIVERY

    At TLB we provide fast standard  and express delivery to domestic and international locations. However, do note that we do not deliver to military, restricted areas,  or naval ports.

    Orders ship Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays within the United States. All orders placed from Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) will be processed and shipped within 2 business days from our warehouse. Your order will not ship form our fulfillment center on the following holidays:

    • New Year’s Eve
    • New Year's Day
    • Memorial Day
    • 4th of July
    • Labor Day
    • Thanksgiving Day
    • Christmas EveChristmas Day

    An email confirmation will be sent for all orders once received.

    Once the order has been processed at our warehouse, an email confirmation will be sent to you with the tracking number.

    For all international deliveries, the length of transit time is dependent on our logistics partners and their affiliates. However, rest assured that your order is safely on its way and may track its status here.

    For all international orders, you will need to pay for all import taxes, duties and tariffs (if any) as per your country’s governing laws in order to clear customs.

    PRODUCT FAQ

    Due to the vegan and natural ingredients in our products, shades may vary slightly from batch to batch as our sources evolve over time. Our Product Development team is actively working to optimize our quality control measure to improve consistency from batch to batch.

    Currently our products are not tested for comedogenic.

    Currently our products are not tested for hypoallergenicness. 

    None of our products contain fragrance. 

    These products have wheat in them: MicroBrow, Brow Pencil + Gel, and our Sheer Finish Gloss in the shade Minimalist.

    Our mascaras and eyeliners are meant to last through regular wear, but they are not waterproof or smudge proof.

    To avoid transfer from liquid mattes, please be sure to apply a thin layer of product and let it completely dry before moving lips. The use of a lip liner also assists with keeping the matte color in place on your lips.

    To properly remove liquid mattes, use an oil based cleanser with a cotton round and rub gently in circular motions.

    We use a combination of mined mica and synthetic mica, also known as Synthetic Fluoroflogopite, in our products.

    Some of our products are made in China, but we manufacture our products globally. 

    None of our products contain glitter.

    All products except for the 4-in-1 Minute Finish Face Palette are talc-free.

    All products except for the Straight-Line Eyeliner, Sheer Finish Gloss in shade Minimalist, and Lip Liner are mineral oil-free.

    Currently our products are not certified organic.

    Product shelf life varies from product to product. Please refer to the carton of each product to see the specific shelf life after opening.
